Baylor Regional Medical Center - Plano   www.baylorhealth.com

The Baylor Regional Medical Center strives to provide exemplary care to communities at every opportunity from preventive medicine such as free health education classes and screenings to advanced treatment methods to fight incurable diseases.  NWC volunteers provide comfort and assistance to patients, assist staff on nursing units, deliver mail and flowers, escort patients and visitors, perform general office duties and serve patients, visitors and employees in the volunteer-supported Concierge Desks.

Buckner Orphan Care "Shoes for Orphan Souls"   www.buckner.org

The Buckner Benevolent Agency is a multi-service agency dedicated to the restoration and healing of individuals and the family. NWC volunteers participate in a shoe-processing workshop in September at Valley View Mall and preparing shoes for shipment at the SOS (Shoes for Orphan Souls) warehouse on Buckner Blvd.

Contact Counseling and Crisis Line   www.contactdallas.org

Agency provides telephone crisis counseling for Dallas and Collin County.    Trained telephone volunteers answer emergency assistance calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The volunteers for these calls are required to complete an intensive training course.  There are many other volunteer placements available through the contact Connection Auxiliary.  Some of these opportunities include office assistance, Bingo Bash and some special one day events.

Agency is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring safety and restoring dignity and hope to abused and neglected children by providing resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services.

Dallas Arboretum                                  www.dallasarboretum.org

The Dallas Arboretum provides spectacular garden vistas, tours of historical homes, and student and adult nature workshops.  NWC volunteers serve as docents in the DeGolyer home, as garden guides, as workshop assistants, and as refreshment stand and gift shop assistants.  For Dallas Blooms; one day in Fall and one day in Spring.

Agency provides court-appointed advocates for children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse.  NWC coordinates 600 volunteers who staff CASA's "Parade of Playhouses" at NorthPark Center in August of each year.

Dallas Museum of Art - Docent Program  www.dallasmuseumofart.org

Established in 1903, the Museum features an outstanding collection of more than 23,000 works of art from ancient to modern times from around the world. The Museum also has a long history of providing varied and dynamic programs, events, and exhibitions to engage visitors more fully with the art.  NWC volunteers give tours and special programs on art for the schools and public. 

Genesis Women's Shelter                           www.genesisshelter.org

Agency provides shelter and counseling to battered women and their families.  NWC volunteers serve as  children's PAL, outreach assistants, hotline assistants, resale store assistants, health fair representatives, and court partnerships.  The volunteers also conduct clothing drives for the women and children.

Heritage Manor Nursing Home                                       

Agency provides on-going nursing care for the invalid and aged.  NWC volunteers staff a bingo party once a month and provides prizes and refreshments.

Agency provides transitional housing, programs and services to help Dallas-area families in poverty and homelessness.

Lifecare Nursing Home                               www.lcca.com

Agency provides on-going nursing care for the invalid and aged.  NWC volunteers serve ice cream and visit with residents once a month.

Medical City Dallas Hospital                      www.medicalcityhospital.com

Hospital provides general health and emergency services.  NWC volunteers assist at the information desk,  in delivering flowers, in the surgical waiting room, and in the pre-natal admitting room.

Neighborhood Service Council                    www.nscikids.org

Agency serves low-income families in the Spring Valley-Coit Road corridor.  NWC volunteers work with children (K through 6th grade) by assisting them with homework or with after school crafts.

North Dallas Shared Ministries                    www.ndsm.org

NDSM  is a shared effort between Christians, Muslims and Jews to address the needs of the poor in the North Dallas community.  Volunteers perform a variety of duties such as interviewers, workers in the food pantry and clothes closet, computer skilled persons, ESL teachers, job counselors and medical and dental professionals in our clinic.

Elementary school located in Richardson ISD.  NWC volunteers work as reading tutors to the  students in a one-on-one situation.  They also "befriend" students by writing to them, thus building up the students' writing and communication skills.

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital                           www.tsrhc.org

Hospital specializes in providing health and emergency services to children.  NWC volunteers work all phases of hospital routine, gift shop and special projects such as decorating the hospital for Christmas.

Vickery Meadow Learning Center                   www.vmlc.org

Agency is an award-winning adult literacy program dedicated to improving the communication and life skills of non-English speaking adults so that they may function more productively in society.  NWC volunteers work as ESL tutors, staff assistants or children education assistants.

NWC Super Saturday

This service project is yet to be determined, but will consist of an all club effort to advance the well-being of a worthy group on one Saturday in April.

Education box tops, bottle caps and used printer ink cartridges are collected by NWC members for the  benefit of Vickery Meadow Learning Center.
